Day FOURTEEN – Letter M

Meaning

Day 14 - Letter M

Today we arrive at the letter M, and it brings us to something that quietly transforms the whole season.

Meaning. We are meaning making machines after all, but not all of the meanings we ascribe are helpful or accurate.

This is your timely reminder to notice what meaning you are giving to situations and interactions; those ambiguous responses from people, those sideways glances, the sudden silence when you enter the room.

Because meaning shifts everything.

  • Where is the meaning you’re giving not helpful to you?
  • What needs clarifying?
  • What can you let pass you by?

Meaning is a filter which sometimes needs clearing through.

Quietly, and meaningfully yours,

The Original Flourishing Introvert

Before you go, turn your mind to tomorrow. We step into the letter N. Any guesses what our N word might be, especially one that supports your sense of calm this December.

Day THIRTEEN – Letter L

Limit

Day 13 - Letter L

Today we reach the 𝗹𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗟, and it brings us to a practice that can feel uncomfortable at first but becomes deeply liberating once embraced.

𝗟𝗶𝗺𝗶𝘁. Restrict the time or access that drains your energy.

December is famous for stretching introverts so thin. Too many conversations, too many drop ins, too many hours spent in environments that wear down your nervous system. Limits are not barriers.

Limits are 𝗯𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘁𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝘄𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗯𝗲𝗶𝗻𝗴, your clarity and your capacity.

So take a moment today 𝘁𝗼 𝗿𝗲𝗳𝗹𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝗼𝗻 𝘄𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗮 𝗹𝗶𝗺𝗶𝘁 𝗺𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝗯𝗲 𝗵𝗲𝗹𝗽𝗳𝘂𝗹.

  • Is there a gathering that needs a shorter visit?
  • Is there someone who requires a little less access to your time?
  • Is there a conversation or favour that needs a clear and simple no?

Setting limits is not cold or unkind. It is 𝗮 𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺 𝗼𝗳 𝘀𝗲𝗹𝗳-𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗰𝘁.
It is also one of the most practical ways to keep your December manageable rather than overwhelming.

Quietly, and selectively yours,

The Original Flourishing Introvert

Before you drift off, look ahead to tomorrow. We turn to the 𝗹𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗠. Any guesses what our M word might be, especially one that helps you stay grounded this season.
