Day EIGHT – Letter G

Ground

Day 8 - Letter G

Today we move to the letter G, and it brings us back to something beautifully stabilising.
𝗚𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱. Lean on the steady routines that help your nervous system feel safe.

December can feel unpredictable. Plans shift, demands appear out of nowhere and the general pace of life seems to speed up without consulting any of us. This is exactly when grounding practices become essential.

Not dramatic rituals.
Not complicated systems.
Simply the small, familiar actions that bring you back to yourself

So today, 𝘁𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝗮 𝗺𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝗻𝗼𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗴𝗲𝗻𝘂𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗹𝘆 𝘀𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗹𝗲𝘀 𝘆𝗼𝘂.

Which routines help you feel anchored rather than swept along?
What small habits remind your body that you are safe?
Where can you weave in steadiness so the season feels less like a whirlwind and more like a walk you are choosing to take?

Grounding is not indulgent.
𝗜𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗲𝗻𝘁.
It is also one of the simplest ways to support your introvert energy through chaotic periods.

Quietly, and consciously yours,

The Original Flourishing Introvert

Before you go, look ahead to tomorrow. We step into the letter H. Any guesses what our H word might be, especially one that keeps your December feeling manageable?

Day SEVEN – Letter F

Flexible

Day 7 - Letter F

Today we arrive at the letter F, and it brings us something quietly liberating.

𝗙𝗹𝗲𝘅𝗶𝗯𝗹𝗲. A gentle reminder that there is almost nothing in December that truly cannot be rearranged.

We often treat festive plans as if they are carved in stone, handed down by some ancient seasonal authority.

But in reality, most things can shift. Most people can adapt. And most plans still work perfectly well when moved, tweaked or simplified.

Flexibility is not failing to commit.

It is choosing to honour your capacity with clarity and kindness.

Take a moment today 𝘁𝗼 𝗹𝗼𝗼𝗸 𝗮𝘁 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗮𝗴𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗼.

  • What could be adjusted to create breathing room?
  • What can be moved to a day when you have more bandwidth?
  • Where might a small change make the entire season feel lighter?

You are not required to contort yourself to keep everyone else comfortable.

𝗙𝗹𝗲𝘅𝗶𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗴𝗼𝗲𝘀 𝗯𝗼𝘁𝗵 𝘄𝗮𝘆𝘀.

Quietly, and flexibly yours,

The Original Flourishing Introvert

Before you head off, turn your attention to tomorrow. We step into the letter G. Any guesses what our G word might be, especially one that supports your sanity this month?

Day SIX – Letter E

Empower

Day 6 - Letter E

Today we step into the letter E, and with it comes a reminder many introverts need at this point in the season.

𝗘𝗺𝗽𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿. Which is all about you empowering yourself. No sitting back waiting for others to give you the green light. It’s time to claim your right to choose what aligns with you, not what pulls you off centre.

December often tries to sweep us along in its current. Expectations rise and saying no becomes more difficult so before we know it we are living by other people’s priorities instead of our own. Empowerment interrupts that pattern. It asks you to stand back, take a breath and decide from a place of clarity rather than pressure.

𝗦𝗼 𝗽𝗮𝘂𝘀𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗮 𝗺𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝘁𝗼𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀.

  • Where do you need to reclaim your voice?
  • Which decisions are yours to make, not someone else’s to assume?
  • What choices allow you to act from strength rather than from habit?

Empowerment is not forceful. It is steady, intentional self-leadership.

It is remembering that 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗴𝗲𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝘀𝗲𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘁𝗼𝗻𝗲 for your December.

Quietly, and decisvely yours,

The Original Flourishing Introvert

Before you head off, take a moment to look ahead. Tomorrow we move to the letter F. Any guesses what our F word might be, especially one that supports your December wellbeing.

Day FIVE – Letter D

Distribute

Day 5 - Letter D

Today we land on the letter D, and this one is a gentle nudge I know many introverts need.

𝗗𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗯𝘂𝘁𝗲. Spread the tasks, the planning, the organising and the emotional labour that you somehow ended up holding like the office Lost Property box.

December has a sneaky way of placing everything in our laps.
The coordinating.
The remembering.
The quietly smoothing over.

And because we are competent and thoughtful, we often just get on with it. But competence is not a life sentence, love. You do not have to carry the full weight of the season simply because you could.

So today, 𝘁𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝗮 𝗹𝗼𝗼𝗸 𝗮𝘁 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝗰𝘂𝗿𝗿𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗹𝘆 𝘀𝗶𝘁𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝗻 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝘀𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀.

  • What can be delegated, shared or simply handed back?
  • Where can others step in instead of you stepping up yet again?
  • Who can take a piece of the puzzle so you are not doing the whole jigsaw alone?

Distributing is not about being demanding. It is about being human.
𝗦𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝗹𝗼𝗮𝗱, 𝘀𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝘀𝗮𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆.

Quietly, and collaboratively yours,

The Original Flourishing Introvert

Before you head off, cast your mind to tomorrow. We move to the letter E. Any guesses what our E word might be, especially one that helps you stay grounded this season?

Day FOUR – Letter C

Cut Back

Day 4 - Letter C

Today we reach the letter C, which invites us into something both practical and freeing.

𝗖𝘂𝘁 𝗕𝗮𝗰𝗸 by reducing commitments before they reduce you.

December has a way of convincing us that everything is important and everything is urgent.

A lunch here, a pop in there, a cheeky little favour that somehow multiplies when you are not looking. Before long, your calendar looks like a performance schedule rather than a life.

And this, is exactly where many of the 𝗣𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗲𝘀 in 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗙𝗹𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗶𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘁 𝗣𝗹𝗮𝘆𝗯𝗼𝗼𝗸 begin: with the courage to claim your time back.

So today, 𝙩𝙖𝙠𝙚 𝙖𝙣 𝙝𝙤𝙣𝙚𝙨𝙩 𝙡𝙤𝙤𝙠 𝙖𝙩 𝙬𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙝𝙖𝙫𝙚 𝙨𝙖𝙞𝙙 𝙮𝙚𝙨 𝙩𝙤.

  • What can be released, postponed or kindly declined?
  • Which things feel heavy the moment you read them?
  • Where can you swap obligation for actual breathing room?

That’s why I’ve shared a photo of my own cut back list because even I can fall into the festive trap of good intentions that outgrow my capacity.

You are in good company.

Quietly, and calmly yours,

The Original Flourishing Introvert

And before you wander off, have a little ponder. Tomorrow we arrive at the letter D. Any ideas what our D word might be, especially one that brings a bit more calm into your December?

Day THREE – Letter B

Belonging

Day 3 - Letter B

Today we arrive at the letter B, and it brings us to something deeply nourishing.
Belonging. Choosing the spaces where you feel safe, seen and steady.

Because December can lure us into rooms that drain us long before the drinks tray arrives. The pressure to be cheerful, social or endlessly available can leave even the strongest introvert feeling a little untethered.

But here is the quiet truth.

You do not owe your presence to places that make your shoulders tense or your energy vanish on arrival.

So today, take a moment to notice

  • Where you feel a genuine sense of warmth and ease?
  • Who helps your nervous system settle rather than spark?
  • Which spaces allow you to exhale rather than brace?

Belonging is never about forcing yourself to fit in. It is about choosing where you feel safe to be fully yourself.

Quietly, and belongingly yours,

The Original Flourishing Introvert

Before you go, cast your mind ahead. Tomorrow we move to the letter C.
Any ideas what our C word might be, especially one that keeps you grounded this season?

Day TWO – Letter A

Acknowledge

Day 2 - Letter A

Our first letter of the month is A, and today it stands for something quietly powerful.
Acknowledging your limits before December sprints off with them.

The season has a knack for pulling us into its swirl of noise, expectations and the familiar chorus of “you don’t mind, do you?” requests. If we are not paying attention, we say yes out of habit and then wonder why we are running on fumes by the second week.

So today, get honest with yourself.

  • What can you genuinely manage?
  • What feels like a step too far?
  • What do you need to stay steady and sane?

And remember, this is not about excuses.

It is about agency.

When you acknowledge your limits early, you are not closing doors.

You are choosing the right ones to walk through.

Quietly, and genuinely yours,

The Original Flourishing Introvert

Before you wander off, have a little think. Tomorrow we move on to the letter B.
Any guesses what our B word might be, especially one that helps you hold on to your sanity this season?

Day ONE – Welcome

A Gentle Beginning

Day 1 - Welcome to Seasonal Sanity Savers

Welcome to Day ONE of our Seasonal Sanity Savers, fellow introverts.

Here we are again… December.

A month that somehow insists on sprinting while the rest of us would quite like to amble, thank you very much.

You may already feel that familiar seasonal flutter, not excitement, but the quiet oh dear, here we go again as the invites gather and expectations multiply like fairy lights in a bargain bucket.

If that’s you, take a breath. Truly. You’re not behind. You’re not failing.
You’re simply introverted in a world that forgets to slow down.

So today, we begin gently.

A small, steady commitment to one moment each day that is unashamedly, unapologetically yours. Nothing dramatic. Nothing that needs a spreadsheet.

Just a deliberate pause, the kind of simple, grounding choice that sits beautifully within the Practices & Plays you’ll see emerging from The Flourishing Introvert Playbook.

  • A sip of stillness.
  • A moment to re-centre.
  • A reminder that you get to set the tone for your December, not the other way round.

We’ll walk this month quietly, intentionally and very much on our own terms.
No performance. No pretence. Just space to be who you are.

Quietly, and calmly yours,

The Original Flourishing Introvert

Tomorrow’s letter, and of course the first one is A. Any guesses?

If you had to pick a positive word to start with this journey with letter A, to add to your own festive sanity kit, what would it be?
