Own Your Needs

Day 16 - Letter O

Today we step into the letter O, and with it comes a truth we introverts often tiptoe around for far too long.

To Own your needs, especially your need for solitude and space.

Somewhere along the way, we introverts absorbed the message that our quieter requirements were inconveniences. That wanting space made us difficult. That needing solitude meant we were withdrawing.

Nonsense. Absolute nonsense.

Your needs are not quirks to apologise for. They are signals.
They are wisdom.
They are the map of how you function best.

Owning them is not rebellion.
It is responsibility.

This is where we stop outsourcing our wellbeing to other people’s comfort and reclaim what has always been ours.

So take a moment today and ask yourself honestly:

  • Where are you denying or diluting your needs to appear more agreeable?
  • What need would you love to own overtly?
  • What becomes possible when you stop explaining yourself and simply stand in your truth?

Owning your needs is not selfish. It is sovereign. It is how you stay rooted, resourced and quietly powerful in a season that often forgets to ask how you are coping.

Quietly, and openly yours,

The Original Flourishing Introvert

Before you head off, turn your mind gently to tomorrow. We step into the letter P. Any thoughts on what our P word might be, especially one that protects your precious December energy?
