Pause

Day 17 - Letter P

Today we step into the letter P, and with it comes one of the most underrated power moves we introverts possess.

To Pause. To pause before committing, because slowness is wisdom.

Let us be honest. The world loves a quick yes. People will ask you something and stare at you like a Labrador waiting for a treat.

But we introverts are not built for knee jerk decisions.

Our best choices do not arrive at speed.

They arrive after a breath, a beat and a quiet internal scan that says,
Can I actually handle this, or am I about to volunteer myself for exhaustion?

A pause is not dithering. It is data collection.

This pause is where clarity happens. It is the tiny gap where your truth gets the microphone before your people pleasing scripts try to grab it back.

So take a moment today and consider this:

  • Where do you need to stop agreeing to things as if your calendar is a magical bottomless pit?
  • What happens when you give yourself even ten seconds of honest reflection?
  • Which decisions would be very different if you paused long enough to hear your own wisdom?

Pausing is not weakness.
It is tactical strength.
It is the introvert’s version of a power pose, only quieter and far more effective.

Quietly, and patiently yours,

The Original Flourishing Introvert

Before you head off, turn your thoughts to tomorrow. We arrive at the letter Q.

Any guesses what our Q word might be, especially one that safeguards your precious December energy?
